Nonetheless, disclaimer first and foremost, I did not want to bring my usual gear to shoot for a couple of reasons. Namely, if I was to be the “xiong di”, I naturally gotta be the hands to carry items throughout the day and very likely be involved in the gate crashing games which means it’s pointless for me to be bringing tons of gear. Most importantly I would not want to intrude and block the photographer’s angle who happens to be Derrick Ong, an established photographer in the industry.

Moving forward, I did not went as a photographer this time round. I went as a buddy with a Micro Four Third system - Olympus EP2 (Angeline’s precious camera which she named it “Pok Chui”) and her manual prime lens – Kern Paillard Pizar 26mm F1.9 which is older than alot of us I think. My purpose was to absorb in the whole event and forget I’m a photographer but to document with the manual focusing lens as an observer, a brother, a friend and to keep the colors and shots as RAW as possible. The more film like, the more blurry, the more technically wrong as I possibly can. Hope you enjoy the series as much as I had documenting them!

The Leica S2 is built like an ordinary sized full frame DSLR camera albeit a little bigger, and I thought it looked like a simple quiet fella when I displayed it out on the table alongside my Canon 5D Mark II. Leica S2 just feels like the kind of guy who has been rejected, ostracized and outcast by the society with his head hanging low in a dark corner. Looking modest, simple and clean with very few buttons, the Canon 5D Mark II just seemed to look a little flashy side by side. But what I was about to find out later when I tested the camera got me dumbfounded.

The resolution produced by the waterproof body camera with a 30mm x 45mm sensor which was larger than a standard 35mm full frame DSLR was simply mind blowing at 37.5 megapixels. I can shoot an image, crop in the eye lashes at 100% and it’s still has enough resolution to print tack sharp 8”x12” prints. The tiny details that are often pixilated become so obvious now. Every crease, folds, tiny hairs, wrinkles (woooopps) are captured in minute precision. However you’ll either need to make sure your hands are steady like the tripod or you’ll need a tripod for maximum results as the shutter mirror slap is insanely different from the run of the mill DSLRs. The slightest movement can easily cause an image to go out of focus. The AF (auto focus) is quite accurate but you won’t want to expect it to be as fast as the standard DSLR cameras.  But once it locks on to the subject, it WILL be piercingly sharp. The legendary Leica lens brings life to the image and subjects simply pops out – almost 3d like. Talk about 3d needing 3d glasses!

One exciting feature that can really put my mind at east for all my shoots is the dual memory card slots design, a feature I require that’s lacking on the 5D mk2 unfortunately. The Leica S2 is designed to house two separate cards – a Compact Flash (CF card) and a Secure Digital (SD card) simultaneously. You can program the camera to write RAW files to one card and JPEG to the other or write RAW files to both cards at the same time, creating an automatic in-the-field backup. Not only that, you also have the flexibility to program the Leica S2 camera to write sequentially so that when the first card is full, it will automatically write to the second card.

If you’re looking for features which are getting common in cameras such as the HD video mode, or the various scene modes which comes with color filters and various settings in-camera, then you’ll be sorely disappointed. You might ask, “Hey! The camera body alone cost thirty over grand but doesn’t do all the bell and whistles of a sub thousand dollar camera?!” Kid you not, this beast is in a league of it’s own.  The Leica S2 is designed for the top end professional market where features practical to the photographers are heavily emphasized on, such as the dual-shutter system. This allows you to select the camera’s built-in focal plane shutter OR the built-in leaf shutter for insane flash sync speeds of 1/1600 seconds. You can severely kill the sunlight outdoors using flash while maintaining nice bokeh blur as you no longer have to crank up the aperture – strobists should understand how useful that can be!

The Leica S2 is like what the Chinese always say “wo hu cang long” – crouching tiger hidden dragon. This baby will not be as useful in my Actual Day shoots when sometimes speed is the key to a make or break image, but it will definitely be a lot of help for my conceptualized pre-wedding shoots where I can control most elements inside the picture. However note that the Leica S2 is not designed to compete with the professional series from major manufacturers such as Canon or Nikon. The Leica S2 is in a league of its own.

Introducing – SUSU! She’s the Digital Plastic Surgeon at Raymond Phang Photography! She’s an expert in painting the details of your beautiful wedding gown, she can give you 8 packs without making it look too fake like a plastron, and magically erase your pimple/wrinkles away.

Of course she can do much more than that. Err… does burping loudly and saying excuse me right after, attempting to do a nonchalant fart in your face and raiding the fridge counts?

Next up would be Mr Benedict Chan a.k.a Ben Chan! Ben is an awesome photographer with Raymond Phang Photography, and one of the most hardworking one here too.

Besides Photography, Ben also enjoys Long Boarding. Here’s Ben posing with a safety cone which he uses for practice and his cute little white doggie side kick named Xiao Bai.

Here’s Xiao Bai practicing Yoga on the long board with Ben generously showing off his protruding plastron which was a work of art specially designed by Susu. You can have one too!

Ben is now wearing the Emperor’s Clothes… Ben is fierce with his temporary tattoo on his arm. So temporary that there’s no need to wash it away or peel it off after the shoot. The tattoo only appeared in this one picture. Again, all thanks to Susu.

Raymond went for the MPA (The Master Photographers Association) judging with the following 20 print images and he has been promoted to be a qualified AMPA (Associate) Photographer. That’s a good baby step from the previous Licentiate qualification.

Other than the MPA judging for the qualification for Associate, Raymond’s images has also received a Highly Commended award in the Contemporary Wedding Category, Winner for the Contemporary Wedding Category and Finalist for the Yervant Bridal Award, Award of Excellence in the Dennis Hylander Wedding Award in the Master Photography Awards 2011 competition, together with 10 Merits achievement.

The following are the 20 prints submitted for the judging;

Featuring Roy and Amy who have been really supportive of us since the beginning! I remember having to squeeze myself against the wall as much as possible cos of Raymond’s specific requirements for the lightings. And also how the security personnel was watching us and so on-the-dot to help us keep track of the remaining time we have to shoot in the museum.

Known as the Sleeping Beauty, this is Shuqin doing a super good job in looking all peaceful and serene despite having to suffer by laying on the steps for this shot. I’ll never forget how I drove the golf buggy and flung Raymond out cos I mounted the kerb on full acceleration. The remaining of the session was shot by a “handicapped” Raymond with bleeding knees cos he suffered quite a big patch of wound. Kekekeke. :X

Lokie & Lydia with the inverted “Love” or Super Mario Plant…This is the image that bagged the Winner for the Contemporary Wedding Category, as well as Finalist for the Yervant Bridal Award.

Don’t you just love her feathery gown with so much details?? Susu loves gown with so much details… An awesome and enjoyable session with the couple depiste the many many mosquito bites.

Lokie and Lydia sneaking a dirty kiss! Muwahahahaha~ Early in the morning and we were carrying quite a lot of barangs barangs, especially the peachy pink color coat, the fatty jackets, bags of equipment, tripod, lightstands and all.

It was quite a challenge getting a clear shot cos the bridge is filled with people and Raymond was shooting from far. Some of the passerbys actually stopped infront of our camera unknowingly to see what’s going on, and we had to NG a couple of times because of that. Some people even kept taking pictures of Lokie and Lydia too! Hahaha~

I can’t describe how scorching hot the sun was, and they were standing at the balcony with the sun shining from the top. Imagine a person can perspire even wearing just a tshirt… what about the couple in heavy gown and full suit! But they were still very game on for the shot.

Colin and Emily in New Zealand with the Star Trail! Still remains as one of our all time favorite piece. This location was not our intended place of shoot for this scene, but Raymond was exploring the area and happened to discover this off road place perfect for this scene. No buildings, no lights, no nothing! Except the prettiest moon I’ve ever seen in my life and the billions of stars in the sky… Kekeke. It was super chaotic, with the strong wind blowing! We spent quite some time setting up the tent (which broke in the end by the strong wind), and we had to keep attending to the “campfire” cos it kept going off.

Then Raymond sent the couple out to the roads to get their car so that they can go back to their hotel, while Susu and I were left in the wilderness and it was super dark! We could have just died there if a pack of wolves or vampires decide to come out and hunt for supper, and it was soooooooooooooooooooooooo freaking cold I suggested to Susu to squat down so that we minimise wind exposure to our body. Then we decided to take a picture of ourselves just in case anything happen to us and this would be our last picture together. It was too dark for the camera to focus and we had to take 2 torches out and shine on ourselves. -_-”

I can still remember the car battery was dead by the end of the shoot, and we had to call our beloved friend Mr Ang ZQ for help. He was so sweet to bring dinner for us, and very thoughtful to keep it warm by putting it inside his boot!

Eddie and Aileen kissy kissy again in Zouk! I remember seeing how Aileen was doing her own make up in SOHO before they head out for the shoot, and I couldn’t tag along cos I was feeling unwell. But super glad everything turned out so nicely with the help of Dominic, Joy, Majella and Susu!

Lokie and Lydia in Prague, kissy kissy on Charles Bridge on a freezing cold super early morning. While shooting the security personnel kept coming to us and told us we’re not allowed to take wedding pictures there… Hmm…

That’s Irvin and Carrie, shot at the railway track. Makeup artist Jyue Huey was super duper nice to stay on and help around, and also went all the way out to buy us MacDonald’s for lunch despite the rain! I will remember how Carrie specially ordered the giant Red Balloon from US and how the Balloon flew away when Kenneth was “looking after it”.

We had Bush, Joy, Majella, Susu and myself assisting for this session! We explored quite a number of places which required a certain level of PR skills to get in to shoot. Kekeke. Love this Peeping Jane image! Luckily Aileen was not wearing those long gown otherwise confirm chop it’ll be wet cos the floor was slippery with soap water. Despite the rainy weather, we still had a lot of fun and managed to capture some yummy pictures!

Oooohhh one of my favourite and the only series where the couple did a cross dress!! Do you know Private actually dislike having pictures of him taken? Yet he was so game to agree to doing a shoot with us! Not an ordinary shoot, but a cross dress one! BRAVOOOO!! Very happy for you guys that you’re finally married!! Hehehehehehe~

Ok this “painting room” is hot and stuffy cos before we took this shot, the workshop folks were actually baking a freshly painted car inside here. You know, car workshop environment is pretty hot and noisy, and the couple had to bear with all the discomfit to complete the shoot with us! And they were totally burnt out, having to redo and redo until Raymond gets the right expression that he’s looking for. So while him and Susu were setting up the lightings for this, I sneaked down to the coffeeshop to buy drinks for everyone. All of us drank like thirsty camel. After we wrapped up, Susu actually had fun smashing light tubes (wearing safety helmet and safety goggles) and Raymond had fun snapping away while I had fun hiding in one corner till they were done. :P

That’s Roy and Amy in Sleep can wait! Hahaha! We didn’t know that’s the tagline for this year’s Adidas Sundown Marathon, and we already have the snoozing concept before the couple went ahead to liaise with the management for permission to do the shoot on the Marathon day. So just nice, the snoozing concept and the tagline fits perfectly cos they’re so ironic. Hahahaha~

Sometimes when I plan for the props to be used for the shoot, I’ll try to think in the couple’s shoes… It’ll be quite a madness to get a mattress, so I told them they can just bring some thick comforters to do a makeshift bed. But Raymond wanted everything to look as real and ridiculous as possible, wanted Amy to bring a real mattress…. at such a last minute notice, I thought he was insane… but guess what, the couple really brought a mattress for the shoot!!!!!!

This scene was quite a chop chop snap and go, cos the organiser kept rushing us to clear immediately cos they were about to start the race. But it was all good fun and I got to excercise by running up and down during the scene where they changed into gown cos Raymond was shooting with the 70-200 from far and it was too noisy to shout across, so I became the “Pigeon” messenger. But I too heavy cannot fly, so I had to run instead. Muwahahahahaha! :P

Tony and Cheryl throwing moneyyyyyyyyyyy.. of course those are not real money. Hahahaha! The couple had to print the money with the Specimen word stamped across, and cut them nicely to be used for the shoot. Cheryl is an extremely capable lady, and she takes charge of all the logistic matters! Our shoot wouldn’t have been possible without her, especially when we did a “zhu ge liang” scene with bout 20 over people in a single frame, with every individual wearing specific costumes. So after this scene all of us went for dinner together and we had the spicy buffalo wings… being the chilli noob that I am, Level 1 was enough to send me to hell… -_-”

TP & Eileen in Sepang!! I’ve seen images of the Sepang circuit that Raymond took when he was shooting for their endurance race few years back. But this time I get to sit the propellor FireFlyz plane which was so damn cool, and also explore the entire Sepang circuit with nobody around. It was early in the morning, all was calm and peaceful… That’s “A” in bikini and “WB” at the back working on the fire extinguisher. Poor “A” had to be the bikini girl after losing to “WB” in the game of scissors paper stone. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! But “A” was an extremely good sport, he was sooo good at posing girly and posing flirty. But TP and TJ had to drive around the circuit to clear their cars of the powder from the fire extinguisher and gave their cars a good wash after that.

Ben, Raymond and myself totally enjoyed ourselves at the shoot, and TP + Eileen were extremely good host to bring us around for all the awesome makan. *drools*…

And this image scored the Highly Commended award in the Contemporary Wedding Category.

Big thank you to Jeffrey for his help!! Without him we might have a lot of problems shooting in such an awesome location. I remember it was early in the morning with no one around, and we needed more space so we took the liberty to shift the cartons of bottled water which was in our way. Then this guy came over to us and told us we are not allowed to shift the bottled water ourselves, if we need anything we have to let them know, and bottled water cannot be placed directly on the floor, need to put them on the platform etc. It was only then we know that guy is Jeffrey cos the couple haven’t arrived yet so we didn’t know who was Jeffrey. Kekekekeke.

Shing Wa and Lynnette went to a number of wet markets to hunt for the smelly trout for the shoot! Those sun dried ones with the heads are pretty common, but they managed to snag this for the shoot  – a complete fish which was pretty huge and still a little slimy! So when she fished it out from the plastic bag and newspaper, the stinky smell starts to roam around the place and attacked our nose. Poor Shing Wa had the closest encounter with the smelly trout cos Lynnette actually had to slap Shing Wa’s face with it. Big sacrifice!!! Hehehehe.

Thank you guys for all your love and support! Thank you Boss for giving me time to write this “lor sor” entry, cos I had a lot of fun reminiscing… like I said in my previous blog entry, I will always remember our couples who did their conceptualised pre-wedding with us, and the nitty gritty details of things that happened during the shoots. I do remember our AD couples too!! But because I was more involved in the pre than the AD, so I tend to have more recollection of what happened. Hehehe.

Also a special big thank you to all the awesome “old birds” in the industry & qualification judges for all your valuable comments + critics and pointers! It’s through these honest feedbacks that we get to learn and improve, and we really appreciate all the teachings & sharing with no holding back. We will definitely remember the points to look out for in our images & the areas to work on. Hopefully we’ll get them corrected & come back even better next year.

It’s been quite a long while since our last update! We’re actually more active on Facebook (www.facebook.com/raymondphangphotography) with regular updates of Raymond Phang’s conceptualised pre-wedding images, and Ben Chan’s beautiful actual day wedding images! (:

The Style Weddings Love Affair 2011 wedding roadshow has been a huge success for us, especially with so many couples coming down specially to engage Ben for their actual day wedding. We have also received a number of emails addressed to Ben Chan with very kind words of encouragement despite Ben being booked for the date hence unable to shoot for their wedding.

Ben and Raymond is currently away surveying the location for tomorrow’s photoshoot, but Ben said he would like to express his gratitude to everyone of you guys who believed in him and his works. He is extremely excited and he look forward to document those beautiful moments for you on your wedding day!

Backup will take up quite some time, especially when we have to burn and verify all the discs, properly label them, double check that all files can be opened in another machine, and then store them in appropriate disc folders. Afterwhich we’ll need to also back up the files in the NAS (network-attached storage system). So in total we’ll have a copy of the wedding images in the main workstation, another copy burnt in DVD archives, and another set in the NAS. We’ll be setting up another NAS backup system in another location for the “just in case”. Call us Kiasu, but the backup is really necessary and especially important, and to ensure that the systems run + shut down smoothly, we even invested in backup power supply for the individual CPUs and NAS in case of power breakdown.

I think I have digressed again. -_-”

Anyway, today’s entry is to introduce Raymond Phang Photography to you guys, with an addition to the creative team.

The living Mascots of Raymond Phang Photography – Satin (on the left) and Bailey (on the right)!!! Satin is a very tamed and gentle + extremely shy chihuahua. Once you carry her she can just fall asleep in your arms. She don’t bark at all until she started learning all the bad things from Bailey. We adopted her, and she’s actually the sister of Bailey. Always bullied by Bailey, super curious, and you have to slowly approach her else she’ll just run away and hide underneath the table.

Bailey is a super playful, vocal, highly intelligent Chihuahua. We bought him from a friend when he’s about 2-3 months old when he used to hug pencil to sleep in place of a bolster. He’s super curious and enjoys playing hard to get. He’s quite vocal initially when guests come over. But once guests settle down, he’ll quit his barking and starts to wander off doing his own things. The next time he’ll start barking again is when guests leave. Somehow he knows it when it’s time. We’re still figuring out how and why.

This is Raymond our principal photographer. He observes the event, goes with the flow and captures as it is on a wedding day. We always tell couples 80% of Raymond’s style of shooting is like a fly on the wall, he doesnt interact much on the wedding day unless absolutely necessary. The remaining 20% would be posed shots such as unconventional group photos, or in the spur of the moment he’s suddenly inspired by something, he’ll ask if couples would like to have a quick posed shot to be taken. That’s why some couples thought our shots look like pre-wedding when they’re actually taken on a wedding day.

Raymond is a spontaneous person, cheeky, talented and highly intelligent. Throw him lemons and he’ll use the skin to sundry make dried lemon snacks, use the fruit to make lemonade, save a little to be used for lemon meringues and also for beauty purposes to lighten skin etc. =_=”

He graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a diploma totally not related to Photography, went to NS, and Photography is his first full time job. We were formerly known as Raymondfotographie when we first started out, and we did a rebrand few years later to the current Raymond Phang Photography. The journey to where we are now (although not very accomplished) has not been the most easy, and we never could have done it without the support and understanding from our family.

But don’t see he cheeky cheeky, he’s an extremely serious person when it comes to work. We are not allowed to disturb him when he’s at work, otherwise we’ll be in deep shit. I can say he’s quite a demanding person also with high expectation to the work quality delivered. An anal perfectionist always hoping there’s more time on hand to perfect his works.

*Stress*

Next comes Angeline (aku, saya dan sendiri). I handle all the admin stuffs such as email enquiries, maintain and update the blog and facebook, paperwork filing, accounts, pricing structure, PR, HR, marketing, meetup with couples, daydream for the conceptualised pre-wedding and liaise with couples for the logistics, assist for pre-wedding shoots and provide opinions (which my boss calls me the art director), do R&D, cleaner, PA to boss, album layout + touch ups bla bla bla… =_=”

Not very intelligent, and I always picture my world to be super duper colorful (cos I love colors), filled with amazing things/ideas that we’ll probably not see happening on Planet Earth. My favourite activity of the day would be sleep. Because it’s the only time I can dream of the impossible, especially things I’d like to see it happen in reality but can never happen. Things such as giant marshmellow cottage house in shades of pastel pink and yellow sitted on a huuuuuuuuuuge patch of nicely trimmed carpet grass with red+white spotty mushrooms growing here and there (not forgetting dandelions too), then there’s bunnies hopping around chewing on baby carrots, bambi lazing around, subtle golden sunray peeking through the clouds. And then innocent kids giggling chasing each other across the field, suddenly the sky starts to rain. Not the normal rain but sparkly diamond dust, with an awesome hugeass rainbow sprouting from the far end.

Everything is nice, warm and fuzzy. But not all of my dreams end up on a sweet note. Sometimes it continues to something like this; the kids suddenly feel the earth moving, shaking, and realised it’s a quake. Bunnies hopped for their lives, bambi still lazing around, kids screaming and running in circles. The quake got more and more violentl, and the clouds slowly turned dark. The kids look up to the sky and see a pair of giant hands reaching out for them! They got toppled over and started spinning around. End up it’s an evil witch with nose the length of a cue stick. She captured the kids and put them into the snowglobe as puppets. Hence the diamond dust rain. -_-”

*Stress*

Next up is SUSU! She has got a lot of nicknames such as Susu (her real name is Sulin), Susulini, Sushimi, and sometimes new nicknames when we’re inspired to call her something else. Muwahahahaha! Susu first joined us in September (2009?) when we put an Ad looking for D-Eye artist, which is actually D.I Artist (Digital Imaging). Her email caught our attention amongst the many application, so we decided to ask her for an interview where they had to process some raw images.

The result of her images came out with purple colored skin tones, but we decided to confirm her anyway because of her attitude. Personally we find that attitude is one of the most important factor. She can click well with us, and had the room + potential to improve.

I remember the first day of work I placed a box of chocolates and sweets on her desk, and kept feeding her with food in case she shy don’t dare to raid the fridge for food. Now she’s a professional fridge + cupboard raider, and her skills have improved tremenduously over the past years. No more purple cast, and much more detailed.

Susu is a “I’m anything one” person, but sometimes she’s also not that person. Pretty prideful at times, but definitely crazy enough to do stupid things such as flashing to a field of cows in New Zealand with truck driving past and driver saw her flashing, humping the sakura lookalike tree in Prague just to make the petals fall for a conceptualised pre-wedding shoot and had people fiercely asking her to better stop it yet she continue humping the tree.

Sometimes she’ll play angsty music in office, and she can listen to a song on repeat mode for the whole day. Sometimes we’ll have little chats in between work, talking about Lotus and discussing how the robber will let us go if we tell him his lotus will not open if he robs us.

Besides doing DI work, susu is also a good photographer, and second shoot sometimes. Not forgetting she also assist Raymond for conceptualised pre-wedding shoots carrying lights (sometimes have to hold till whole body starts to vibrate like lao pok car engine), throwing food and money etc.

In short, this angsty anything one lady here specialise on the digital imaging work, does occasional shoots, and also assist for conceptualised pre-wedding when required. Oh if you’re a hug person like Susu, feel free to hug her.

Next up, our new addition – BEN CHAN the crazy potato!! He has a few nicknames too, sometimes I call him Benito, Benoi, Bennie etc.

He was first introduced to us by Angthommie (Thomas the awesome photographer from peeeeeeeepiiiiiiiing thom). So Angthommie text me the website to view Ah ben’s works. Not bad, this lad has got potential. Ah ben has been assisting Angthommie for a couple of shoots, also second shoot at a few weddings as well.

The first time I met Ah Ben face to face was at SOHO, when he came up with Angthommie to borrow the Sun Gun for a pre-wed shoot. He looked so serious and no nonsense, I scared. HAHAHAHA!

So after their pre-wed shoot ended, we met up at Lavender area for supper at Cheng Mun Kee (delicious meatballs). Ah Ben was super quiet, super shy. But maybe because he was too tired to entertain us, so nevermind.

Then he started helping us with some DI work as well. He dropped by SOHO alone, he was super quiet as usual, so anti social, sit one corner don’t dare take water to drink etc. But strangely, feedback from Angthommie is that Ah Ben is NOT LIKE THAT ONE…..

Which is true… because after working with him for a few times, he slowly started to open up to us. He’s really sweet and good natured, extremely hardworking and effort 100%.

Besides photography, Ah Ben enjoys breaking an arm or a leg with this activity called Long Boarding. Hahahaha! His favourite drink when he’s tired happens to be Red Bull + Naughty G, he can eat like 2 packets of Nasi Bryani at one go for lunch and feel hungry 10 minutes later. If you guys are interested to have your wedding shot in Film, Ah Ben is also the man you can look for.

He has assisted us for a couple of conceptualised pre-wedding shoots such as Roy and Amy, Tony and Cheryl, Eileen & TP, did a few batches of editing for wedding day, also second shoot for a few weddings as well.

Raymond is very pleased with Ah Ben for his work attitude, and also the potential to be an awesome photographer.

So Ah Ben will join us officially as a full time photographer in October, and we’ll be participating in the Style Weddings Love Affair 2011 roadshow happening from 6-9 October 2011, 11am to 9pm at Main atrium level 1 Plaza Singapura. We will be launching a super attractive promo bundle for full day wedding photography coverage for Ben + Susu’s photography service, only for signups at the roadshow. I used to tag along for food shoots giving comments and all, until one day I ate the whole restaurant up cos I was too hungry after looking at the yummy food. Muwahahahaha! Nah just kidding, actually I stopped tagging along when the sky rained more work responsibilities upon my shoulder. Heh heh heh~

It’s not easy when you have to do the food styling and shooting at the same time, and luckily most of the time the client and restaurant crews were patient enough to accommodate our requests. Sometimes we need to spend longer time on a few particular dishes than the others, sometimes have to cook again and again, sometimes have to go find that perfect piece of carrot and make sure the chilli seeds or even the sauces are at the right spot etc. Alot of thought goes into photographing that one dish to make sure it turns out good and looks appetising. When I was at the shoot, I was always lusting after the food, hoping I could eat it after Raymond is done with the shoot. But turns out the food is not really cooked, and after being handled by a few people using their hands and some other tools, it is really not advisable to put them into your mouth. Oh well!!

Enough of my yucky wordings, here comes the food!

WAH…… See so many food pictures, I’m feeling hungry already!!

Leap of Faith – Our couple actually did a cross dressed thematic shoot for their pre-wedding. It was a known fact that the groom rarely had pictures of him taken.. he doesn’t like it somehow.. but I think it must be the power of love, he actually agreed to do a conceptualised pre-wedding shoot with us. Imagine a person dislike having pictures of him taken, yet agree to spend a full day accommodating to our requests for the photoshoot!!! We were so touched and honoured because the groom was really super co-operative! And he must have love the bride so much to agree. SALUTE for Private and Confidential!!

Love – One of the romantic series from Amy and Roy’s conceptualised pre-wedding shoot at the Museum. It’s kinda hard for us to do romantic cos we need to like… feel a triple dosage of love until we get soooo inspired to do a romantic one. But it turned out well, pretty classic. :)

Celebration – Same couple as the “Love” piece, they had a shoot done on the Sundown marathon day itself. This was sort of a one shot one kill image, and we had to clean up the floor after that. Slippery floor will pose as a hazard for other runners coming in right after, especially when this is the finishing line where the runners will usually chiong their way in.

Shiok Shiok Curry Pok – Conceptualised pre-wedding in New Zealand, South Island. Super love this farm… not a very big farm, but I love it for the beautiful friendship/relationship between the animals, how they were able to co-exist together in harmony. I’ve never seen pigs, horses and sheeps “playing” together, and I’ve never witnessed on live how piggy can sneak out for a little tour and came back through the same hole he sneaked out from! It’s like watching Animal farm or Babe the movie!

Goose Bumps – Conceptualised Pre-Wedding in PRAGUE, at the Prague castle! Woohoo! Prague is quite a romantic place, and we’d love to go back there if not for the crowd. I think it’ll be beautiful to go during the cold winter season, but be prepared to freeze like hell. We were already freezing when we went there for the shoot in April. Again, gained weight like hell cos we couldn’t resist the good food. All the joggings from the ups and downs to carry lights and equipments didn’t help at all. Grrr… This is from the romantic series, more crazy ones to come from the Prague shoot!!

I don’t give a fart – Conceptualised pre-wedding shoot at Sepang Circuit (KL). Subang was a damn awesome place with awesome good food!! We flew there on FireFly airline, the propellor plane was suuuuuuupeeeerrrrrrrr awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! The G-force was so shiok, service was fantastic, crew was friendly and we’d love to fly with Firefly again!! The food there was yummy, black noodle was so yummy with the black sauce, the fried rice, the bak kut teh, the steamed beancurd buried below the rice, the planta prata, the bandung was super shiok and we gained weight from the trip. Can’t help it when our couple was such a good host!!

There’s many more to come from the conceptualised pre-wedding shoots! Recently we’ve been receiving quite a number of enquiries from couples to do conceptualised pre-wedding with us, and it’s on rare occurrence we get super loony couples who are riding on the same wave as us to do things crazy enough. We get a lot of crazy ideas in our brain, especially when we don’t get good sleep and we keep having dreams about weird stuffs. We also had the opportunity to photograph Colin and Emily’s pre-wedding in New Zealand, damn awesome shots, and super enjoyable! We can do it a million times over, and I believe even after the millionth time is done, we’ll still want more. But I shall not sidetrack, will keep my focus on their Actual Day Wedding for this post. :p

So… here goes!

Spot the resemblance? Kekeke. The bunny earsssss!

The couple actually got to know each other during their school days, and they’ve been together for almost 10 long years already!

Jean Aw (a friend of the couple and also Andrew + Sylvia) did the hair and make up for Emily that day. Wonder why was she laughing so hard until she was sitting on the floor!

Preparation for the gatecrashing, so pretty still go do Heart shape pattern on top of the gooey bitter gourd mixture.

I’m not gonna share too much images on gatecrashing, just a very few images.. otherwise it might scare the groom/brothers away~ This time round the girls are so considerate, before the start of the gatecrashing games, they offered the Po Chi Pills to the groom and brothers, to prepare their stomach for the just-in-case!

We have encountered cases whereby grooms and brothers puked and had tummyache during the wedding, which can be quite a spoiler for the couple as it affects the mood of the entire day. So maybe can refrain from playing with too much food stuffs, otherwise gotta take extra care and make hygiene practice a top priority. Or maybe… po chi pills at the start will be a good alternative. LOL!!

There were a whole lot of happy images from Colin and Emily’s wedding, and I love it! I love it when the couple knows how to enjoy and relax on their wedding, when Susu (our digital plastic surgeon) saw the images, she also enjoyed working on the images. Raymond had fun shooting the wedding, everyone is happy!

I think this is cute! First time I see couple drink champagne so cute one.. Usually it’ll be the cross arms, you drink yours and I drink mine kind.. Hahaha~
