The next photography contest that Raymond Phang entered was the ISPWP (International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers) Fall 2011 contest. We received seven placings in different categories, and was placed third in the Top 20 Overall winners of the Fall 2011 Wedding Photography Contest.

Apologies for the super lack of update since our last post on Goodbye Loft @ SOHO. We’ve been super duper busy with the packing/unpacking/cleaning/reno/more cleaning/more reno/pre-wedding shoots/falling sick/backlogs of editing/touch ups at the new place/more backlogs to clear and the list goes on. Will share some pictures of the place once it’s clean and ready!

Realised that we have been sharing quite a bit of our conceptualised pre-wedding shots recently, here’s a series from Roger and Lydia’s actual day wedding celebration taken last year in October. Yeah, didn’t realise another 2 more months and it’ll be a year since their wedding! Time really fliesssssssssssssssssss! *Gasp*!!

We’ve got many more wedding images to share, but that will take some time to come as our hands and brains are really full now. Enjoy!

Loving how the moment was captured when Raymond happened to spot Lydia and her daddy-in-law sharing a hug. Roger and Lydia’s wedding was really close and intimate with no pretence, free flow of hugs and kisses around, no need to follow any auspicious timing, and it was free play. Just the kind I like!

Roger arriving for the gate crashing time… Gate crashing is not a tradition back home, so Roger didnt really know what to expect. Maybe can try bribe the kids for some insider information?

Luckily the games they played was nothing of the eating yucky food sort, so everything was good fun!

Then Roger was made to sing a song and strum on the guitar. I think he’s loving it.

So she got suuuuuper high, started laughing like hyena, “cursing and swearing” while Raymond and I were happily taking video – at least some memories for  her to look back when she’s older. And I secretly think it might make the most awesome wedding gift for her in the form of a video montage. Muwahahahahaha!
 
I got a terrible headache afterwards, and Susu started hiccuping non stop. With every hiccup she had, it will be followed by an “aiyo” sound from her. Then she started sprawling all over the floor, volunteering her tshirt and jeans as a mop cum broom. She crawled all the way from the meeting area to the toilet, complaining that the light switch was so high and beyond her reach, she broke the lock to the toilet door, hugged the toilet bowl, wet her tshirt when she tried to wash her face, wasted a few glasses of water when she almost fell asleep without closing the tap, hugged the toilet bowl again, and puked gloriously like the Merlion.
 
 
WHAT A WAY TO START THE NEW YEAR! Hahahahahaha!! Raymond had to leave at about 10ish for a shoot till about 2am, so Susu and I watched the pathetic fireworks together. I think she caught like 5-10 second glimpse of it and then concuss again. We had to send her home when Raymond returned from his shoot.
 

For Susu, it was a Happy new year “吐011″! Muwahahahahahaha! How was yours?

That aside here’s one of my favourite series of wedding images shot in Year 2010! Keng Been and Elayna’s actual day wedding~ The couple had the morning whipping session for the groom and brothers, tea ceremony, some quick outdoor shots, and dinner banquet. You should see the dinner reception where the table was laid with all the super nice goodies, very pretty and it makes you feel like lingering around as long as you can and finish gobbling them all.
 

I was feeling hungry and this image of the buns appealed to me with the smooth texture, pastel color and cute little umbrellas. So I had to post it.

For Cinematography, the couple engaged Ami from The Wedding Paparazzi.
 

The sisters were all clad in school uniform, seemingly innocent, but wait till you see their power at the gate crashing…
 

I like the “kungfu manual” they were holding, it was part of the gate crashing props. I saw it at Mini Toons or More than words one day, expecting cartoons or drawings to be inside, but it is actually a plain notebook! And they come in different titles for the cover page, and if I remember correctly, it’s about $2.90 or $3.90 each. Nice!
 

Elayna putting on her chunky earring, and I thought it matched pretty well with her gown together with the other pieces like the bangle and ring. Her ring is very unique, and I’ll share a close up picture of it at a later part.
 

When mummy put on the veil for her, she got a little emotional and started tearing. A very touching moment, and often at this point of time Raymond will usually be affected too.
 
 

Now let’s go welcome the groom shall we?? I love Elayna’s doggie, especially the pointy tail that looks like an antenna! Hahahaha!

But Keng Been was not daunted by any of the sisters’ evil plot or tricks. I like the image with dog dog included inside, with everyone facing away from the camera except for dog dog. Yes, the brothers wore the same school uniform too!
 

The games started even before they arrived at Elayna’s unit!
 

Sweet school girls with geeky glasses. Don’t you just love them? And because a lot of relatives / friends will surely be taking pictures with their cameras as well, they tend to upload the pictures to facebook within the week. At least there’s something for excited couples to browse through after the wedding ceremony is over. But on our side we take a much longer time looking through every images individually and edit them because we shoot in Raw format. So we will usually take at least 1 month to 3 months depending on the wedding season to complete the editing. In this case, we really appreciate all our couples who didn’t haunt after us for their wedding images, like Keng Been and Elayna!
 

Now back to the gatecrashing part. The brothers were actually welcomed to Hawaii once they arrived at the lift lobby of Elayna’s place. Posters of pretty Hawaiian girls pasted on the wall with a table full of props for the brothers. So exciting!

Hmmmmmmmm…………. I can’t help but to notice that the sisters nowadays are getting more and more into “nipples”… wait till I share with you on Andrew and Claris’ actual day wedding. Poor poor brothers…
 

While one was being tortured, the other stood by and laughed at his poor misery…

Next, the sisters presented a dish of something. Looks like fermented curd or weird looking poisonous Cheese…
 

But once again, Gary the brave warrior beats all the brothers hands down!
 

And decided to sabo Keng Been this time round when Keng been was innocently eating the pink fluffy bun… =_=”
 

Poor Keng Been was forced to have a taste of the yucky curdy thing.
 

Moving on, the brothers were then asked to doll up and look pretty.
 

Oh my goodness… Keng Been had indeed went through a lot of suffering for his princess!

End up it was a trick!!!! And it got the sisters reeeeeally unhappy~
 

Sensing the wrath of the sisters boiling like hot lava, Keng Been quickly took another ang pow and put in some money to appease them.
 

Angry sisters rushing Keng Been to quickly hang over the ang pow, or else. Keng Been pretended to look as if he has placed a lot of money inside this time round, with a happy and excited face.
 

Who knows, it’s a cutesy note of $50!!! Sister is reaaaaaally unhappy this time round, and if she unleash her power from the kungfu she has mastered from the “Heavenly Wordless Manual”, nobody is able to determine Keng Been and his brothers’ fate within the next 2 seconds.
   
 

Brothers trying to stall time and appease the sisters by looking as smiley as possible while Keng Been decided to make a phone call for help! I guess he has already utilised his 50-50, Ask the audience, and now he’s left with the final Phone-A-Friend.  
 

Who would have thought that the sisters really loved the cutsey note, and in fact they wanted more~
 

So when Keng Been presented the legal tender note to them, the sisters got even furious to the point of breaking down!
 

The gatecrashing went on and on and on, and I shall spare you the details of it by skipping to this image with the KEY!
 

Finally Keng Been stepped foot in the house after being tormented and tossed around like salad by both the brothers who kept sabo-ing him, and the evil sisters.
 

He gets to meet his beloved princess!! Look at the kids’ expression… I’m sure the curious kids must be wondering what on earth are the two of them doing, why are they doing it, and how does it feel. Will it hurt or give them wings? Will they exchange the satay and burger they had last night with each other during the “transfusion”?

So the couple had some time for a quick outdoor shoot at the rooftop of the car park.

As you can see, when the teachers were not noticing, the students were all up to no good! Just like how you secretly munch on snacks when the teacher turned his back towards you, or how you quickly unfold the notes with answers you have in your pencil case because you didn’t want to study for your spelling test. Kekekeke.

After the shoot when everyone let down their guard, who knows the brothers decided to sabo Keng Been again!
 

They carried him and tossed him in the air like roti prata! Only difference is they managed to catch him when he fall and not turn and walk away or smack him down against the floor. Muwahahahaha!
 

It’s the weird tang yuan (sometimes red date soup, sometimes egg with mee sua, sometimes half cooked fish etc) feeding time.

This is the first time I’ve seen a super blinged up handphone cover! With crystals, ribbons, pearl, flower and everything else. Too bad I cannot survive with this because I often abuse my phone with too much work, need to keep in pocket, squat down and throw all over the place.

Here’s an image of the couple’s wedding ring. Yes, their wedding ring!! The most unique ring we have shot so far, and the couple designed it themselves. I haven’t had the chance to speak to the couple (will be meeting them really soon to show them the wedding images!!) about the ring, but personally I think this is a 2-in-1 ring, which serves as an engagement ring and a wedding ring altogether. That’s why got the diamond on top of the rose. Hehehe~ 
 

Maybe you might have to be a bit more careful when you’re wearing or handling clothes with frilly or lacy designs, but I thought this ring has an even greater meaning since it is a design by the couple themselves. You cannot buy this off the rack in a jewellery shop, and you won’t see a second couple wearing this for their wedding. I’m not so sure why the design for the Keng Been’s ring, but this is exactly the point! Only the couple knows the siginificance of it. And whenever they see the ring, it will remind them of the times they spend together.

Darn! I should have been there to listen what Keng Been was saying! Heartfelt thanks to couples who have invited me to their wedding, but unfortunately most of the time I couldn’t make it to the ceremony as I had to stay in the studio to do backups, clear email enquiries, work on album layout.  We do three level of back up, one in the main computer, one to the NAS network storage system and final level of back up by burning them into DVDs making sure all datas have been successfully verified. After which I need to label them properly, and usually I will take a quick browse of the images as well.

Keng Been plays a tune on the Saxophone specially for Elayna.
 

It moved Elayna to tears.
 

Play a tune on saxophone not enough, must constantly maintain eye contact with the person whom you are playing the tune to. Like that then can shun bian send some electric vibes across to the person. More effective, success rate of sending the message across is higher!
 

Not an easy feat, and mission accomplished!
 

It made Elayna happy, and I am very sure she will remember this special performance for life.
 

As you can see, Keng Been was rewarded with hugs instead of rotton eggs, so it means his performance was good!!
 
 

Raymond had a breeze photographing their wedding simply because the couple enjoyed themselves and let go, they laugh when they are happy, they are not overly worried on whether they will look good infront of the camera. As long as you throw these restrictions away, you will naturally look good. Bottom line is –  your mood affects Raymond’s and also the outcome of your wedding images.

I’m not so sure if these are the wedding unity coins / arras, but it seems like there are  12/13 coins altogether. The gift represents the bride’s dowry and good wishes for prosperity, symbolising the groom’s trust and confidence with the responsibility of a provider. With this, he pledges his ability to support and care for the bride. The number 13 actually symbolises Jesus Christ and his twelve apostles.
 

On a side note, besides symbolising the groom’s committment to take care of his bride, it also make his wealth hers!!! I believe it should be a latin american tradition for weddings, and it’s a goooooood one! No wonder Keng Been is laughing so hard. But I think he must be crying even harder inside. Muwahahahahaha!!

That aside, we have quite a few backlogs of images to share as well! Few months back we did Kenny and Sherry’s actual day wedding, with solemnisation on the same day. It is actually quite tiring to do everything on the same day, but it saves the cost and hassle altogether. The couple had the solemnisation and banquet at Oosh (Dempsey Road) with a freestyle buffet dinner. Personally I really like the cosy venue with indoor and outdoor settings, guests are free to walk around and mingle, no restrictions, and less tensed up as compared to a full course sit down banquet.
 

Morning make up and preparation was done at the Bride’s place.

Here comes the groom and his brothers! Looking all enthusiastic and eager to find out what challenges awaits them.
 

They arrived at the bride’s place to find this suspicious looking paperbag hanging by the main gate.
  

And some pretty bras sleeping on the floor with colorful balloons. Not bad leh, bra still got double strap pattern pattern ones. Luckily no lacy ones. But they have got the outstanding Barney colored bra. Hahaha!

Now we all know guys prefer woman to have a heavy top… even when they claim otherwise… Look at the size of balloon they blew up!! They’re all overspilling from the bra already!!!

Brothers and sisters can play any games during the gate crashing, from food to intellectual to physical torture. From meaningless to meaningful games. But most of the time the games played during gate crashing are for the pure pleasure of the sisters. Afterall how many times in life do they get the chance to take “revenge” on the groom and his brothers without them retaliating? Only this once man, only this once…  But of course the sisters cannot be overboard and must try to take note of the hygiene issue during the preparation especially when it comes to food handling. We don’t want the groom and the brothers to get tummy ache, puke all over the place, fall sick and stuffs right? Not only will it spoil the morning, it’ll affect the rest of the wedding day.
 
 

In the past, the games played during gate crashing are more simple. But nowadays the sisters all very jialat, and super sadistic. Maybe because the value of brides nowadays are appreciating… You know, like inflation, property prices and Gold prices? Last time nobody would have imagined the price of COE can go up to $70K, but today, it did. HDB at Shunfu can go up to a million! So I guess it applies to Brides too! Brides are getting more and more expensive because the ladies nowadays are smarter, prettier, capable, and filled with goodness from Vitamin A to Z! Muwahahahahahaha! Ok that’s a bimbotic comment, but quite true to a certain extend! :p
 
 
 
So the gate crashing games are supposed to be a way for the bride’s knight in shinning armour to “show” how far a distance will the sweetheart go for her. It’s like the answer to ”how deep is your love”…. Or “你問我愛你又多深”. Hehehe. The twist and turn of events make gatecrashing seems like an extortion process for the sisters to get more ang pow money. But I’m sure we know the gatecrashing games are all in the name of fun. Maybe the games played nowadays caused people to think that gate crashing are evil and meaningless, aimed only to embarass the groom and brothers. Well, it is your choice to decide whether the gate crashing will be a meaningless or a meaningful one.

The vows exchange. It is very meaningful when couple customise their own wedding vows – something that they will remember for life, will live by, and will hold close to their hearts.
 
 

The solemnisation ceremony usually take about 10-15 minutes. Such a short period of time, but this short period of time is an important committment made that will last you a lifetime. Not simple, and it’s not just a ceremony.

A real wedding cake is the best! The couple had a 7″ cake at the top tier of the wedding cake, surrounded by about 200 over cupcakes.
 

They had 3 LCD TVs and 2 projector screens set up all around the lounge and restaurant area so that the guests can also view the ceremonyfrom the different corners.
 
 

Alcohol seems to be the life of most parties (except children’s birthday parties?) and I haven’t seen a wedding without any alcohol, it will be cool to witness one! (:

Usually you’ll see sisters or the banquet coordinator/manager helping the bride with the gown and stuffs, but for their case, I see Nicholas doing the job most of the time, even with the long red wedding gown. He’s squat down and spread the train nicely for Evelyn. That’s a brownie point for you Nic! :)

It’ll be really nice if you can go somewhere outdoor to view the moon, eat some mooncake, sip some tea, swirl and twirl your heads while reciting Chinese poem, or have fun guessing the riddles, It’s something that I’d like to do if only I have the time, but because it’s the peak wedding season now with lots of backlogs to clear, you guys enjoy on our behalf okie? The couple had their wedding celebration held over a span of two days, and this entry comprises of images taken during Day 1 of their wedding where they had the gatecrashing, tea ceremony and solemnisation. Evelyn wore a super pretty gown, with the entire dress made with layers and layers of lace, unlike most dresses where brides have to wear a can-can underneath to make it puff up like a princess dress.

So the sisters flashed out some disposable plates with the names of the brothers written on it.

“My hair is there!! Right at that spot! I don’t know why all of you cannot see!! I plucked a strand of white hair… Maybe because it’s too white it camouflage and blends in with the color of the plate, so not my fault!”
 
 

The plate will be filled with truckloads of curly hairs if the sisters demanded more. The brothers decided they will all puke at the sight of curly black forest at this rate they are going, so they decided to give in with a cheque offer! You guys can’t really see what’s written on the cheque here, but the cheque is paid to Everyone, amount is Peck on the cheek from any 3 guys…. *Smacks forehead*!!
 
 
 

“Waaaaa… kiss by any 3 guys also not bad, better than going shopping. Kekekekekeke.”Apparently the cheque was good enough to bribe one of the sisters!!

Sisters saw what the brother was gonna do and luckily they were very well trained to combat even the toughest heroes.

So I thought what a great way to grow up quickly and be like the adults! End up for all the remaining Winter Solstice festival, I never fail to stuff my face with the glutinous rice balls which came in various fillings such as peanut, black sesame, red bean etc. Come to think of it, I was so darn naive to believe! And guess what, I scooped the number of glutinous rice balls into my ball accordingly to the age I wanted to be. Then I asked them does it mean that if I am 10 years old and I eat 10 this year, I’ll be 20 years old? But what happens if next year I’m already 20, means I cannot eat anymore else I’ll become 30 years old? No. Apparently there’s a COUNTER RESET for every year. *Faints*
 

Now that we have all grown up to be young adults already, I wish I can vomit out all the glutinous rice balls I ate and turn back the time. Things are happening real fast, and moments kept whizzing by like the wind. Too fast for me to catch, too quickly disappeared. I only hope every single adult who happens to be reading this will really slow down their pace, listen to their own heartbeat and breathing. Don’t waste your life by doing nothing at all or being too busy. Indeed moderation is the key to life.
 

Anyway, on 5 August 2010, Raymond attended the award ceremony for the ASEAN Young Photographers’ Award 2010. He was the award recipient representing Singapore and he had to dress in the national dress or formal attire. With Time as the limit factor, we were not able to source for an appropriate national dress for Raymond, and being bugged with truckloads of work to do, we could only fly down to Zara at Vivocity to do a super last minute shopping on the day itself with Chris Woon being the fashion consultant. I’m kinda used to calling him Lao Woon though. Muwahahahaha!
 

So for those who haven’t seen Raymond in formal, here’s a few pictures taken along the corridoor of our studio at Central.

Lao Woon helped a lot with the selection of outfits, which inner shirt to match with the coat, what color for the tie goes best with the overall look etc! Next time if any guys need to go shopping can ask Lao Woon along! He’s pretty fashionable and very straight to the point, nice will tell you nice, not nice will tell you not nice.

I’ve always enjoyed looking through images with sword bearers present during the wedding. No particular reason, but I thought the guys looked really smart in their uniform! Kekeke!
 

Some of the guys will make things “difficult” for you, they’ll cross their swords and either make the couple kiss each other, or make the groom carry the bride all the way to the stage.

And this as well! I love the series probably because personally for me, the feel is there. The subtle and abstract forms.. something like you don’t have to explain much or show everything, so it allows even greater room for people to exercise their creativity and interpretation!
 

The couple rode in for their second march in, and this particular image got us a first place in the 2010 Q1 Wedding Photojournalist Association contest for the ceremony category.
 

It’s not an easy feat for the couple to ride in, because the flooring of the ballroom was really slippery even with the red carpet! But very glad that everything went well smoothly for them!

Andrew and Sylvia invited us and the brothers+sisters who helped out at the wedding to their new place last month and we had a feast of yummy food! They had a cement screed flooring done up for their kitchen, and their place look really cosy with the long wooden table + benches. Very raw feeling, both Raymond and I love the idea to bits! Hehehe! We’ll see you guys again soon when Satin is abit more settled down and we’ll let Satin, Bailey and Rusti have a ball of a time k!! Hehehehe~

On a side note, ever since we shifted to SOHO 1 @ Central a year ago, we haven’t share any images of our studio yet. Here’s one taken without the lights on. It’s actually a loft with a ceiling height of about 4.5m to 4.75m, which is more than enough for us to build a mezzanine floor to make it a duplex. A little complicating, so we will probably consolidate a few images to share for the next entry especially when there’s a frequent “breakout” of fireworks these few days due to the Youth Olympic Games.
 

Susu might also be sharing some of her awesome cat images which were selected for exhibition!! I’ll go bug her on Monday to blog! Muwahahahaha! Good night!

Recently we’ve gotten news of quite a few couple of ours who’re expecting with a baby! Yesterday was Cassie’s birthday, and we got news that they’re expecting Little Kok Meng, due in November! So happy for them!!! And also we just received news from Sam and Michelle that their son was born on 27 July 2010!! So awesome! Can’t wait to visit them in Sydney! Also a biiiig congratulations to Laurie and Agnes + Edwin and Chew Ling who just gave birth last month! Not forgetting Terence and Jann + Herman & Janet who is due in August too!! Wah, so excited for all of them taking the next step of their new journey!! May all our couples pop more little boy boy and little girl girl, and be very much more in love than before!
 

That aside, here’s some images taken from Paul and Marilyn’s wedding this year in April. They had Singapore’s best wedding planner (awarded by Singapore Tatler) - The Wedding Entourage plan their wedding with a Disney Princess theme for the evening banquet session. I think they did a wonderful job with the coordinating, looking into every single detail of the wedding down to the timing schedules and the customs! Heard from Marilyn that The Wedding Entourage only takes on a certain number of wedding assignments to ensure that they give the best of their time and attention to plan for the couple’s wedding. Very exclusive and committed indeed! I also learnt from Raymond that the planners offer sincere and honest advices to couples (especially Caroline), so I’m very sure couples will definitely feel the assurance.
 

Paul and Marilyn engaged a second photographer – Kaya Ow – for the more formal shots, and also had Yang from Substance Films for Video. Their banquet was held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel, with a beautifully and massively decorated ballroom (flowers and decor by Boenga). I can’t put in words how much effort was made for the preparation to make this wedding a successful and memorable one for the couple, but one thing for sure, Paul and Marilyn enjoyed themselves thoroughly on their wedding day!

Really sweet and docile girl with a gentle temperament! She doesn’t bark, you can carry her and place her in any position you want, and she won’t move! So we’re now known as BRASS – Bailey, Raymond, Angeline, Sulin and Satin!

Currently we have tons and tons of wedding backlogs to edit and share, so do be patient with us while we find the time to update constantly ya? We’ll also have images from Raymond’s editorial shoot in Silk Road (where he met with some misfortune during his birthday), some images of our long overdue Kelong trip as SAR, maternity shots (yes, maternity), more amazing pre-wedding images (confirm never seen before, once in 16 years and never again), and more images of recent actual day weddings! We just did one for Kenny and Sherry’s AD on 3 July 2010 (super popular date!), one of the group shot taken for the groom and the brothers is really nice! To the brothers, the sacrifices your shoes made were all very much worth it!

At present, Raymond is enslaved to the nation for his Reservist and running his ass off to make sure he pass that darn IPPT. We’ll see him when he’s back by the weekend for the actual day wedding shoot of Sam and Shen Hwee.

 
Raymond has also won himself a First Place for the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) 2010 Q’1 contest for the Ceremony category. It’s our first time participating in the WPJA contest, and we’re very humbled by the achievement. We’ll share the winning image on a seperate entry with the rest of the couple’s wedding images. Lots of images which we personally like, and definitely lots of emotions happening during the wedding as well.

Another piece of good news to share, Raymond has been selected to represent Singapore for the ASEAN Young Photographers’ Award 2010 which will take place in Singapore in August this year. I’m sure he must be really excited to meet the other representing photographers from their respective countries. It’s a very good opportunity for him to interact and exchange ideas with photographers from abroad, and I hope it will change his perspective be it towards photography or even Life.

We’re super excited for the plans we have for next year as well, and we’ll share with all couples once we have the details finalised! The SAR has even made a pledge to make sacrifices for it just to see it come true! Emily and Colin has been really supportive, and we’d want couples to take advantage of the opportunity too! So do stay tuned for more updates ya?

That aside, couples have feedback to me that my SMS-es are like emails, and my emails are like story books! I’m so sorry to be this long winded again, blame it on the lack of writings and updates!

Seriously, I would also like to share with everyone another piece of news update. One of the couple whose wedding we shot this year has been featured on the front cover of the current issue (July 10 – December 10) of Blissful Brides magazine. There’s something I like about this image and I cannot explain why…
Maybe it’s the atmosphere, or the way everyone is focusing on the couple who is offering prayers with all sincerity…

Must be the soup not nice to drink right…

Actually amongst the many brides we’ve photographed, Hsiao Hui is one of the few brides who has the most expressions!

I think the bowl of something must be pretty hard to swallow down the throat… =x

I love red umbrellas! If i have the time, I might update a post on all the red umbrella shots we have done. You’ll then see the different expressions from the brides, and it’s really interesting!

Personally I haven’t visited their place, but when I first saw this image I thought their wardrobe looked amazing! It looked like there’s an attached bathroom right beyond the wardrobe!

Tea ceremony! I never used to appreciate tea ceremonies, and I thought they were one of  the most boring part of a wedding, next to table to table shots and group photos. But recently somehow I had a change of perspective. I came to value human relationship more, and trying to appreciate the much elder folks. There’s a few images from Kangwei & Shuqin’s tea ceremony which I’ve listed as my favourites. Might seemed like some extremely normal shots, but nowadays I tend to look beyond the surface of the photos and realised that the ties or meaning behind it is worth much more than anything else in the world. I’ll update an entry of their actual day wedding (18 July 2010) once the images are ready.

Tricky tricky part! Unpin the wrong one and you might destroy the hairstyle! Maybe the sisters ought to collect bribery from the groom for completing this task for them.

I seriously wonder what’s the piece of paper they’re looking at. Love the expression and the whole feeling/tension!

Instead of the usual traditional Kwa or cheongsam, Hsiao Hui wore a gorgeous traditional peranakan outfit!

Intricate details, and it’s not easy when the shoes are handmade and every beads have to be sewn on individually. Takes alot of patience and skills!

One of the must haves for weddings! When else do you get a chance to hug the groom like this, take the opportunity to poke his waist and squeeze his butt!

Who’s the Karaoke King!!

A picture of the mum and daughter getting ready! We call Hsiao Hui’s mummy as  星妈 (celebrity’s mum). Hehehe! Don’t you think Hsiao Hui has the looks of a celebrity? When I first saw her, I thought she looked like Zhang Zi Yi! But of course Hsiao Hui is the super friendly, warm and outgoing version.

They had time for some quick photo opportunities around Raffles Hotel where they had their banquet.

Putting on the shoes~

This picture reminds me of the day when my uncle got married. I was only a primary school kid’s age at that time, and my parents decided that my brother and I will sleep over at my uncle’s place together with my granny. I couldn’t sleep well, probably too excited and didn’t know what to expect. So I had my granny to tell us stories of her life, and probably what marriage is about. The next thing I know, my uncle’s alarm clock went off, he immediately dashed out of his room, washed up and got ready. He was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nervous, until he actually forgot how to put on socks!! Hahahahaha!! I can never forget the scene, and I’ve decided to use that against him if he ever teases me on my wedding day.

“Na, you hold it like this and you push it like that ok?”

“OKIE!”

“Grrrrrr… Vrrrrr…..”

“Nonono, hold it like this, and then push it like that…”

“Heh heh heh, seems to work now!”

“Woooooaaah, suddenly fly out like that!”

I must say Hsiao Hui’s Kwa is also one of the most beautiful one I’ve seen. The cutting fits her perfectly and look at the colours + details!

Muwahahahahaha! I’m a little in the cranky mood today, thus the weird captions for the images. Luckily I postponed my driving lesson. Else I would have given my instructor a heart attack since yesterday I almost made him choke on his sweet when I swirve the car to almost mount the pedestrian walkway at the slip road. HEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Rainy days make it easier to drift… oops! I drive golf buggy can mount kerb, drive car can swirve elsewhere, so please don’t invite me to a go-kart race cos I will confirm flip and toss the car in mid air and do the mid air car explosion stunt. I don’t mind Daytona invites though.
