Here’s the beautiful bride - Cindy! Pretty seldom we get to see brides with short hair for their wedding day. I guess a big part of the reason goes to the lack of variety in available choices of hairstyle. But in thise case, Cindy looks radiant and very refreshing!

I call this the reusable wrist corsages, cos this one actually has pearls and clips instead of the usual ones where we tie around the wrist with ribbons and dump them away after the wedding.

Here’s a sneak preview of how KC looks like! It’s actually a photo mug of the couple. 

If Raymond and I have such photo mugs around our place, I guess it’ll burn a real big hole in our pocket. For times when we have fights and arguments, the photo mug would be a good target to vent our frustrations since we can’t vent it on each other. Hmm… maybe we’ll print out some enlargements of ourselves and throw darts at each other’s faces when we’re angry instead. Kekeke.

Push ups are pretty common, but push ups are beneficial to your health, so why not? Make the brothers do 100 within 60 seconds! Perhaps with a bowl of eggs placed right below their tummy so that during the last few seconds when they cannot tahan anymore or cos they’re rushing to complete within time, they might land and crash on the eggs, or roll over to the side and bang into the brother next to them, and all of them fall like dominos. Muwahahahaha! You can replace eggs for ice, or water or flour, or anything you desire! (:

Conditions such as giving all the monthly salary and bonuses to the wife, promise not to be angry with each other at the end of the day if they ever quarrel, do housework blablala… which I think is pretty bogus! Cos after the couple put both their signature on the piece of paper call the marriage certificate, the terms and conditions stated on this contract automatically becomes invalid. So in order to prevernt such things from happening, engage a lawyer and have a reeeeal one made! :p

don’t mind me I’m a rather random and crazy person.
Being sane is too boring for me.

Much to my amusement I think that alot of people are starting to believe
that my real name is Susu or Susulini (it sounds so Italian. -.- )
So just to clarify, its actually Sulin.
Its an english name, not chinese.
Susu is a nickname I’ve gotten since primary school
and then since recently (horrifyingly actually) resurrected by Angeline
before she decided that no, she likes words with more syllables and
christened me Susulini.

And Voila!
Thats how Susulini came about. :/

So its now the start of a new year.
Another one more month and it’ll be chinese new year for us.
Have you guys started preparing?
Getting red packet paper..snacks..pussy willows..
Heck have you started new year clothes shopping?
I know I haven’t.
Instead rather what I’ve started(or rather resumed)
is my cycling regime with my close friend.
We cycle every sunday and we just started last week.
We nearly died cycling back to Pasir Ris from East Coast because
we were so out of whack with cycling.
Which reminds me I still need to hunt for Hermit crabs for Raymond.
His dish of hermit crabs is already full of crabs but he still wants more.
He wants to turn it into some crab slum or something I think.
Oh yes back to the cycling.
We cycled from Pasir Ris to Changi and then towards East Coast,
before taking the park connectors back towards bedok and then to Pasir Ris.
Oh did I mention?
The park connectors from Bedok to East Coast is F*cked Up.
Especially the last underpass to East Coast.
Why they decide to throw a flight of stairs there instead of a ramp really boggles my mind.
Its as if the powers that be decided that it would be funny
to watch a bunch of cyclists go bumpity bump down the steps
because its located in a blind corner.

So yes, I now have a rather sore butt and aching legs from crazy cycling.
But yes! The sense of satisfaction is so much sweeter!
Weight Loss here I come!
(Weight Loss is like a taboo word here in the studio. Weight Gain is rather; the most encouraged thing)
Its quite hilarious actually because since the day I joined the studio I’ve gained
3kilos in total and probably gaining more bit by bit.
We eat sinful food, we don’t exercise and we park our asses on the
comfy oh so soft chair to edit photos,only to get up a few hours later for our next meal.

Awesome Life isn’t it?

I’m abit sad actually.
I had photos to show but it seems that I must have deleted the folder
by accident without checking if I backed them up.
STUPID SUSU STUPID STUPID GIRL!!!!
*smacks self*
I had some really cute photos of Baileys peeking out from under the
couch.
He always makes a beeline to hide under the couch whenever
he knows we’re going out because he’s emo about being left alone at home.
So I decided that I had to take a photo of that because its absolutely adorable.
So there I was spread eagled on  the floor with my camera
while Angeline pretends to close the door.
The moment the door latch clicked into its chamber
Baileys poked his head out from under the couch and scrabbled out gleefully.
Only to backtrack back under the couch again when he realised that he’s been fooled.
I really really hope I didn’t delete it by accident.
At the very most I just take more photos again of Baileys peeking from under the couch.
Which brings to mind this:
I always contemplated the idea of making a facebook page for Baileys.
I think it would be hilarious in a way.
To have friends adding Baileys on Facebook and checking his status updates complete with photos.
Should I make a Fb page for Baileys? :3

She went back to Aussie already, but thanks to Technology and the wonders of BBM, we’re still able to keep in touch!

Anyway, some picture to share! Took them briefly when we went hunting on a gloomy cloudy drizzling day. But it was really fun though!

We have some Hermit Crabs over at our studio, and susu enjoys disturbing them. Guess she’s trying to be like the hermit when she puts on this very dusty and dirty cone!

Raymond always say when people are in love, they feel happy and so they eat more than usual. Believe it or not, Raymond and I have both gained at least 15KG since we met each other. Like all couples, we have our fair share of squabbles, went through the rough patches and sweet adventures together. But at the end of the day we both know how we love and feel for each other, and I guess that’s what glues us together all these years. The 5 seconds of action to re-think of the very reason what made us love each other really helps to chase away the squabbling monsters. So we should never take today’s squabble to the next day, and I think that’s very important for all couples too! :)

Evidence of that extra 15kg! Yi Yor and Xiao Yi Yor said these are skin… I beg to differ! FATS!

Raymond’s turn! MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

We actually don’t have a lot of time to eat, so how did the weight gain happened right? Guess cos of the very irregular meal intakes and unhealthy lifestyle? Sometimes we skip breakfast, lunch and dinner altogether cos of work, and then we make it all up by having very late night supper! We practically swallow and gobble our food like giant monsters, sometimes we were too hungry to chew properly. So… I guess that explains the major part for the weight gain. =_=”

We attempted one kissing picture the other night when I was too tired to continue with the album layout. So I took a few minutes’ time to disturb him, wondering how will our kissing pictures turned out to be like when it’s our turn to ring the wedding bell. This is how it’ll look like!! Snapped it using his phone!

Or even this! Nice right!? I also attempted to do my hair nicely, but got frustrated cos I thought it’s a waste of time, so I simply braided it from the front. Hehehe.

Okie, now, some real wedding pictures to share!! I picked a few from different weddings which I really like. Hehe. Enjoy!

I like how the balloons hide away half of their faces, adding the element of a supposedly mysterious suspense. But unexpectedly the couple actually stuck out their tongues, which I thought was really awesomely cute! See how the colors and elements adds up to create that feeling of fun and cheekiness? I think it’s pretty cute and it just brings out the couple’s personality which I find is really meaningful! Cos personally I feel that “pre-wedding” photoshoots are most of the time about posing and creating aesthetically pleasing images, but it lacks the meaning of the couple’s love and relationship. I guess different people have their own ideals and perspective. Some might prefer meaningful images, and for some, aesthetically pleasing images! Lucky for couples, there’s a mixture of professional wedding photographers around to cater to your different needs.

Can’t really explain for this one, but the backview of the couple works for me for this. Somehow I feel this image has a pretty strong feel of the couple as two distinct individuals, and I can even feel their personality from this image. Some people might have noticed a reflection of another person in the image. This was actually taken on an Actual Day Wedding, and I thought it looked pretty good! Not exactly the most aesthetically pleasing image, but good enough for me.

Again, the same couple on their actual day. I thought it looked pretty refreshing and I find the idea of this image pretty romantic too. One couple, two individuals, Two windows, One vision.  That’s the way it should be!

Aother of my favourite! I like the overall feel of this image. There’s another one with a different cropping where the vines are actually centralised which Raymond liked, but I very much prefer this one!! Just felt that everything falls into place nicely for this one, and I like the mood of them being totally absorbed into their own little world without any cares or restriction. Very fresh colours, with a soft gentle mood. I like!

Tons of other backlogs, and we’re all trying very hard to clear them as soon as we can without sacrificing on the quality. Susu has been really diligent working on the images together with us as well, so do bear with us a little longer k? Cheers!!

Actually I feel really blessed to have known them, especially couples like Guan Lim & Jeslin, Jack & Grace, Michelle & Sam, Desmond & Jolene, Jonald & Yutong, Andrew & Clarice, Richard & Wendy, Eddie & Aileen, Max & Mui Hui, Kok Meng & Cassie, Edwin & Eunice and a whoooooooooooooooooooolesome lotssssssssssssssssss moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! In fact we love them all for inviting us to be part of the special team for their biggest day, and also very appreciative that they engaged us because they genuinely love our works and not because we’re “spares”. Much more than that, we’re really really happy that we get to take the relationship further from being just clients, to friends and very good friends! So looking forward to Year 2010, and hopefully meet more interesting characters!!

Year 2009 was pretty fruitful with the achievements Raymond bagged from the [AG]WPJA - Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, the MPA - Masters Photographer Association, establishment of the Wedding Photographers Guild, collaboration with the preservation of monument board and CDL in producing the book - Resonance Songs of our Forefathers, addition of Susulini the DI artist to our family, and lots lots more! Learnt a lot of things, widened our horizons a bit with the travellings and attending the Schembri workshops in Sydney, plucking enough courage to drive overnight from Sydney to Gold Coast within a day etc!

Come to think of it, even though Year 2009 has been 365 days of work for us, it’s actually still pretty colourful!

Now for my Year 2010 resolution: Stop work at 12 midnight, start work at 7am, find one activity to do together with Raymond (we’re pretty lifeless cos of work!), spend more time with family & friends, eat more fruits! That’s all for now! Maybe i’ll get susulini and Raymond to share some day!

Okie now, here’s some images from my personal snap snaps collection. Hehe.

I actually fed the machine with 2 dollars and out came this love struck looking froggie… I got this because Raymond was mad at me for some reason which I cannot remember. So next morning I went over to his place, outlined the shape of my hands and fingers, cut and folded them in such a way that the middle finger is pointing out, stuck it to the body of the frog and pinned the whole thing to his mirror!

I find it funny cos the whole idea of it is funny to me, and at the same time it gets to express my anger and frustration too… Oh well, things I do to “spice up” our relationship. :p

Bought this during our furniture hunting at IKEA few months back. Raymond likes it a lot.

Sometimes he’s really sweet cos he actually bothers to take time off work and divert his attention to me by doing little things like sewing my buttons back for me when it dropped off.

Interesting things we spotted together..

Having late night supper… it’s actually lunch + dinner combined in the middle of the night after 12 midnight!

Yesterday I spent half the day accompanying my friend Shahidah. I call her Shark He Duck, or Duck for short.

I know I have a lot of emails to reply, but Duck is having some personal problems and she needed someone to talk to…

Raymond and I puts relationship above everything else, so instead of sitting down replying emails while she talk and share her problems, I felt that someone who needs a listening ear deserves all the attention…

Tried to cheer her up so I suggested snapping pictures!

Duck and I knew each other since 1997, and she’s like one of my best friend… such a coincidence we’re both wearing checkered top!

Duck has a big eyering, floral murals, bird (which I cannot tell!), stitched up wound, sun, and a Mr Pringles look alike face.

I had two uneven eyebrows, some wrinkles on top, double eyelid, arrow love, whiskers, pink nose, mustache, moles and eyebags.

This image is damn cool! Looked like I had fake teeth!!

Taken on 3 November 2009 for Scott & Wee-Li for their outdoor pre-wedding. Susulini came with us on that day and assisted. Very happy that the images turned out to be pretty nice! Sweet and cheery, bright and pretty!!

Taken on 10 November 2009 for Qi Wei & Hsiao Hui’s outdoor pre-wedding. Susulini joined us too, and we had a yummy dinner of Botak Jones right after! Love this series as well, and we really think Hsiao Hui looks like Zhang Zi Yi from certain angles!

Besides being recently accredited the title of a Licentiate Master Photographer by the prestigious Master Photographers Association, we’re humbled yet delighted to be placed in the 7th position amongst the Top 30 artistic wedding photojournalists following the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association Q3 2009 contest! We would also like to congratulate one of our WPG member - Tsen Ho - for his achievement in clinching the 7th position for the Groom category! Very well done, and we hope to strive and excel together to produce even better wedding images for all couples who appreciate our works and effort!

Special thanks to Wee-Li & Scott, Ho Wei & Eileen, Stephan & Gam for giving us the honour to be part of their special day, here’s the winning images from their respective category.

Groom: We were doing a pre-wedding photo shoot for the couple, and Scott decided to show us his juggling skills! Very spontaneous couple, we’re glad the couple was so patient and accommodating during the shoot! Will share some of their images soon on a seperate entry!

Ho Wei & Eileen’s Actual Day Wedding

Emotion: From Stephan and Gam’s wedding. I think we haven’t share the images for this series. Stephan and Gam had a really intimate wedding dinner,with loads and loads of mingling time. It’s one of the weddings which is pretty much stressed free without the need to stick to the strict timing, no pretense and smiling for the sake of smiling for the traditional table to table shots etc.

Once again, a big thank you to the couples, and to all our friends who have been really supportive and encouraging throughout our journey as a wedding photographer!

We met another guy known as Link. But I thought “The Missing Link” suits him pretty much! Hahaha! Link is actually a writer with Mediacorp, with an impressive command of the chinese language! I secretly went to his blog (hey, why no updates anymore!?) and read a little of his stuffs. I think people who can read and write and speak good mandarin are soon becoming extinct. Hopefully after he steps foot on his journey of Photography, he’d still maintain this “good virtue”. Haha! A very sincere guy I must say, and hope he’ll enjoy the coming challenges of being a good wedding photographer!

The most beloved of all - Gabriel  Mendes, affectionately known to us as Master Sud Sud! The nickname came about when we attended the WPN workshop few months back, where Gabriel Mendes gave a talk on wedding photography. Couples go to him for Sud Sud images, and everything about him is Sud Sud. S U D S U D. And amazingly, we all agree that he deserves the Sud Sud title!! So we’ve been calling him Sud Sud ever since. Hahaha! Raymond and I always thought Gabriel Mendes is an ang moh or a “fusion” of Chinese with some exotic bloodline, but he’s actually a Chinese! Raymond and I always thought Gabriel Mendes would be a no nonsense, very atas and aloof person, but we were totally wrong. He’s actually really fun and wacky! No airs, and surprisingly very approaching! We’re glad we attended his workshop, learnt a hell lot of very useful things and got to know more about him! :)

Back to the workshop after thoughts. Both Raymond and I found it very useful, especially since what was taught really apply to the local context. It was a one full day worksop, starting at 9.30am and ended at around 8.15pm! It was supposed to end at 5.30pm, but Master Sud Sud still had so much to share with us! We learnt about finding our unique selling point, marketing, selling, branding, got to know how Gabriel Mendes Photography came about, and it was a super eye opener when Master Sud Sud showed us exactly how he present his works and albums to couples. We had a solid session of hands on practical/role play where Raymond and I pretended to be wedding couple visiting Gabriel Mendes Photography to browse his works. We threw him a lot of questions like what couples would ask wedding photographers, and Master Sud Sud managed it all soooo well that we wanted to sign on the spot! A really super exciting “ping pong” session, and Master Sud Sud indeed is the master.

The session continued at our studio where we all had a chance to present, and Master Sud Sud really have a knack for role play! It was his turn to act as a bride, and goodness he can really pull it off damn well! So funny!! Hahaha!! We would then all give our comments on the presentation, and Master Sud Sud taught us how to improve from there. The workshop is really very engaging, intensive, interactive, yet intimate and personal. A real pity for all those who missed the workshop!! Master Sud Sud was telling us it’ll be the one and only Gabriel Mendes Workshop, but we really hope there’ll be more to come cos it’s really beneficial. I’m sure Link will agree with me too.

Lunch and dinner was provided! Master Sud Sud brought us to this place for delicious Thai food at the Rail Mall known as Sweet Salty Spicy! Dinner was at Central, having the famous Ramen at Santouka. We then snapped some pictures, but unfortunately George had something to attend to, so he left us before dinner time. We had a lot of fun at the workshop, and thank you Master Sud Sud for the selfless sharing session!

Master Sud Sud is really tall too! And we forgot to snap a back view of his hair. So stylo!
