Prawning at Bishan

Some pictures taken few months back with dummy camera! We brought Andrew & Clarice to Bishan for their supposedly virgin prawning session, and we met Jack the pro there! Jack has been prawning so often until he now has his own professional prawning rod, a big container of his wormy bait, he hooks up prawns effortlessly within short span of few minutes, he knows almost all the crews there by name, he gives away his netful of catch to other prawners cos he ate too much prawn until scared already. Hahahahaha!!

*Salutes*!

Jack's earthworm feed

That’s Jack’s container of wormy worms. They’re pretty disgusting to me. Long reddish color, some fat some skinny. You need to use the small cutting blade to slice them into shorter lengths so that you can use the hook to poke it.

Bloody earthworm

Oooooh, so painful! It’s bleeding!! O_O”

Hairy worms

Some were dark red in color.

Earthworm bait

That’s Andrew trying to hook the worm. So scary! The little side dish is actually filled with Chicken liver. The prawns love all things smelly!

Andrew

So focused!

Jack

Jack and the in house rod. His current pro rod is foldable for easy keeping! And i think he keeps it inside his car 24/7, anytime ready for prawning.

Jack and Raymond Phang

Prawn with pincer

Prawn with pincer!

Andrew and Clarice

Andrew’s catch!! Nice big one! :D

Prawn with roes

Disgusting roes. Eeeew! When you BBQ them, the roe turns black color. Some remains yellow/orange. Weird.

Bucket of prawns

We soaked the prawns in bucket of salt water. It’s like adding salt to their wound. *Ouch*!!

skewed prawns

Then we skew them alive. :(

BBQ Prawns

Put them on the BBQ pit to cook! Sprinkle some more salt, and sometimes a few of them will still struggle. Can see their tail flapping furiously, trying to swim away from the heat!

big and small prawns

The differences in size.

Raymond phang with prawns

O_O”!

baby prawn

This one is pretty. But very poor thing.

That’s all from my dummy camera! More updates to come from Raymond’s side! Enjoy the weekend! :D

Surprise from Andrew & Clarice

Heaps of backlogs to clear, and Raymond has turned in for the night cos he has a wedding shoot tomorrow! Koh and Ting Yin actually signed up with us very long time ago, and I can’t believe how time flies! Their big big day is going to happen in few hours’ time. I think they must be pretty excited like me! :D

A few pictures from my dummy camera to share! All these are taken in March few days after we met up with Andrew and Clarice for dinner!  The very sweet couple took us out for dinner at Peramakan, which I thought was quite an interesting name! The restaurant serves Peranakan food, and it was both Raymond and my first time having a Peranakan meal! Very interesting dishes they have, especially the weird weird nut!! Argh! Should have brought a camera along and snap pictures of the food! There’s this weird nut where you have to dig the insides and eat. Nevermind, I’ll ask Raymond to visit that place again for dinner and snap pictures next time! :(

The food were all very nice, and there’s free flow of rice for people who love carbohydrates, like Raymond! I pretty like the prawns cos it’s very springy and the sauce they used to cook the prawn did a wonderful job in stimulating my taste buds! It’s a little spicy, but still very acceptable for people like me who doesnt take spicy food. I wanted to eat more, but I was shy. :P The chendol was super sinful, probably filled with lots of gula melaka and coconut milk! There’s even weird desserts like durian chendol. What a lethal combi! I’ll make sure Raymond order 5 portion and finish all 5 if we decide to head there for dinner! Hiak hiak hiak.

Here’s a picture of Gaymond Raymond with the diabetic Thank You card from Andrew and Clarice!! The couple specially wrote us some lovey dovey notes inside the card, and we decide to display it at our new place when it’s ready! :)

Present for Raymond! When we finished the meal at Peramakan, the couple flashed a biiiiig paperbag and placed it on the table for us! Both Raymond and I were super shocked and surprised!! They shouldn’t get us anything at all!! We find it hard to accept gifts cos we’re so not used to it! I think we spent quite some time on the “tug of war”, and the couple won. Thanks for the thoughtful gifts!! We really love it very much! :D

Present

Since Raymond was driving, I helped him tore open his pressie!!

My Parents’ Wedding :)

Hello everyone! Raymond and I have been super busy recently! It’s like riding on a crazy roller coaster ride with no ending and no destination! We had fun taking turns to fall sick, shooting weddings for lovey dovey couples like Herman and Janet, Chye Tuan and Siang Yin, Richard and Wendy etc, meeting up with interesting couples like Ken (and his friend James) who thought Raymond was Gay cos of one of the comments in the Jack and Grace entry I wrote, catching up with our past lovely couples like Jack and Guan and Jeslin and Andrew and Clarice and and and and and!! Muwahahaha.

Okie, we have a whole mountain of pictures to share, especially Raymond’s travel collection when he went over to China for a shoot. But today I’m sharing something interesting. My parents’ wedding pictures! =D

Family Portrait - Wedding

This is a one and only piece of family portrait in my family before I was born. So precious because there’s no negatives returned, and seriously, this is the only piece. ONLY piece. So many siblings inside the picture, but my dad gets to keep this maybe because he’s the eldest son? But he’s not the eldest children in the family. Hehe. I was wondering how come the bestman and my dad wears the same thing. Quite misleading! =p

6 sisters and 1 brother. Actually got few more brothers, but you know, families in the past cannot afford so many children, so had no choice but to give away. Some left Planet Earth already when they were young. =(

Bride and Groom

My mum pretty much hates her makeup that day. No choice cos they had a super tight budget, and this is the best my dad and his family could provide already.

Portrait destroyed

When I was born, I grew up and started drawing things all over the house. This should be one of my masterpiece before I even went to Kindergarten. I will always remember this because I got wacked extremely badly by my dad when he saw this. It’s really lucky that I didn’t draw on the other side. Cos this is actually the one and only piece of family portrait!! Sigh… at that time I didn’t know why did my dad canned me for drawing. Now that I realised the value of pictures, I can understand his then position.

Maybe it’s a sign that I will be an artist when I grow up what. No?? =p

Wedding album

The photo album. One and only too!

wedding photo album

Sorry for the bad quality cos I don’t have a scanner, and I quickly snapped it using my dummy camera.

Tea ceremony

My mum and dad’s tea ceremony. Dad was holding the plate of teacups while mum served to my 3rd uncle, and my grandmother watched at the side. Hmm… Interesting.

dinner banquet

Their night banquet. No table to table shoots! Only candids. How cool!! These people are part of my mum’s family.

table to table

No yum seng, so you get to yum seng individually with the different tables.

forced drinks

And then they made the groom drink. My dad doesnt drink alcohol at all so I wonder what happened to him after this glass. Hmm… Oh, no speeches, no gate crashing too! =\

Candids

Going back already! My mum wore a pink cheongsam, with a pink tiny hat + feathers. She still keep this cheongsam though!! Can wear for my own wedding. Muwahahahahaha!!

tea serving

Now that’s me looking at the photographer. Maybe it’s a sign that I’ll have my eyes on a wedding photographer in future when I grow up. That’s why I’m happily in love together with Raymond now.

*Blush*

Okie! Gotta go already! Pardon the gramers, gotta go meet couple! More updates soon! :D
