A Couple

We met up with Desmond and Jolene last Saturday at Bishan Junction 8′s Coffeebean. Every meet up to us is a real excitement! Because we’ll never know what to expect, or who to expect. Whether they’ll be the shy shy introverted type, or the super friendly and outgoing type… whether they’re really genuinely interested in our works, or just to have a look see look see session… and a whole lot other factors!! :)

Since Raymond and I were early, we decided to grab a quick bite. As usual, I’d do the ordering while Raymond rest his mega butt. I love cakes and pastries, and it’s exciting to try something different everytime.

This time round, I ordered a New York Sausage Dog (forgot the exact name), 1 Praline Cheesecake, and 2 Espirits. I thought the Sausage one would be good, but I didn’t like it. Raymond was okay with it because he said it tasted a little like MacDonald’s Sausage McMuffin’s sausage, which I don’t agree. But the Praline Cheesecake was GOOOOOOD!!!!! Raymond like it too!! *Drools with desire*

Wah yummy yummy!! Somehow I grew to appreciate cheesecake… Oreo cheesecake… and Secret Recipe’s Marble Cheesecake is good too!! AHHH!! Hungry already!! Haven’t had any food until now.

Anyway, after settling down with my order, Desmond and Jolene came to our table. Raymond and I were quite surprised how come they know we are the ones whom they’ll be meeting. Turns out that they read our blog before. Haha. And now this wordpress blog has become my blog because Raymond haven’t writen anything here… tsk tsk tsk.

I kinda like Jolene’s eye make up that day. I find it amazing how girls can manage to draw the liner so perfectly. Because personally I dislike painting faces, and I hate the chore of removing them afterwards. Yucks. Sometimes I try to play with the eyeliner and the mascara. There are so many types of eye liner, like the gel type, liquid type, the normal crayon/pencil type. Some will smudge and make us look like ghost after a while, some will last forever until you have to rub the lids vigorously with the remover because they refused to go away.

We chatted a while, and Desmond told us how much his sister likes Raymond’s works. Got impact one. Hahaha! That statement surely made Raymond’s head swell up like the size of the DHL balloon. Some more can float high high up one. Hahaha. But seriously, I think it is really very encouraging for us to know how much people appreciate our effort and our works. Like what Raymond tried to explain, for him it’s not about the money or the glamour, but it is the appreciation and recognition which matters more than anything else to him.

For couples who are really introverts, it is quite a challenge to get them to open up so that we can know more about them. But for couples like Desmond and Jolene, we didn’t have to try at all, which is definitely something good! :) Hmm… Somehow I can’t help but to have a feeling that Jolene’s sisters will step onto Desmond’s brothers’ head during the gate crashing session. Muahahaha! Hope you guys get your flat ready soon. Jade Spring seems to be quite a nice place to live… And I must say you guys are reaaaally lucky to get it!! =D Now this makes me wonder how Jack & Grace are doing… hope they managed to get a flat already!

I remember Desmond asking us these questions; are we a couple? Married? Heh heh heh… Aiya, whenever couple ask us the married question, Raymond will always reply with a “soon lah soon” followed by a “hahaha”

=_=”

So I told Desmond, wait till I find a suuuper big Bling Bling first, then we’ll get married. Wahahahahaha!! Just kidding hor! =p Actually last year during my birthday I already found a big one already.

I do I do!

We went Altivo at the Jewel Box after our ride on the cable car (it was the first time in my life I took the cable car at SG!), after playing with the snow foams (christmas season, they had some snow show thingy). We even took pictures with fake Santa, but I didn’t quite like it because the Santa wasn’t fat enough. So we had some drinks at Altivo, and I saw this BIIIG bling bling on the table! I like it very much, and so I asked Raymond to get it for me, which he did! At first I was a little sad because when we left the place, I didn’t see him bringing it back. But when I was about to go up to my house, he presented me with the BIIIIG bling bling!! Hahahaha! Fake one, but I like! =D

And to Desmond’s question of “are we a couple”, I thought I’d find something to share that can answer the question.

We went through life and death in the middle of the night by risking our lives to catch deadly fighter cockroaches highly trained in martial arts.

We only have eyes for each other, that’s why we are able to take ultra unglam pictures together in public, because we don’t see anybody else around us.

Triple C Panini from TCC!! Too bad they removed it from their new menu!

We are a match made in heaven because both of us are real gluttons. We get hungry easily throughout the 24 hours, and then we’ll binge on food.

We love each other so much that when one of us grew fatter, the other one will gorge until he/she becomes fat fat too.

We often reward each other with little pecks on the cheeks.

When we have no money to get him a Braun Buffel wallet, he said it’s okay, we can take a picture with the Christmas tree that has the word Braun Buffel. He’s contented. Really.

Like all couples, we have our collection of kissing photos which can cause diabetes because it’s too sweet already. This is one of my personal favourite. Look how “passionate” we are. Got tongue sumore. Raymond totally didn’t expect that at all!!

Most importantly, we stick through thick and thin (with the help of the saliva), and we are happy when we’re together!Awwww…

Muwahahahaha! I guess that pretty much answered Desmond’s question. =D

Alright, I gotta go do work now already. Tons of photos to see. Byebye!

Fork Lift equals Dangerous

Yesterday we met up with Vincent and Ann at West Coast MacDonald’s. Very funny couple! Vincent kept insisting that Ann is actually 2 years older than him, when that’s not the truth, as insisted by Ann. Hahaha. And when Raymond shared with them an idea of his, Vincent asked us not to share anymore ideas because the ideas will cause the hole in his pocket to grow bigger and bigger. =p

Anyway, Ann has a really good complexion! It’s no wonder she’s an air stewardess from SIA. And guess what, Vincent is a Pilot!! Wow, all the interesting occupation. Hmm… I wonder whether the 10 brothers and 10 sisters are working in the same line or not. Then Vincent was telling us how his gang of brothers and him are going to la kopi at the coffee shop and have prata if the sisters still refuse to let them in during the gate crashing. Make the sisters negotiate with them, ask for lesser ang pow money to make the brothers come back instead. Muahahaha!

In the midst of the meet up, Guan Lim called. Such a coincidence that I was just thinking of their Wedding the previous day, and then on the next day he called. Haha! We’ll be meeting up on the 30 September to discuss the schedule. Quite excited! Hope they are all set and ready for the big day! =)

Alright, here are some not nice pictures of Raymond during a corporate shoot.

Going up on the forklift, trying to grab angles of the exterior building. Dangerous!!

Just look at his expression. When he was done with the angle, he asked the driver to bring him down. But the driver heard wrongly, or accidentally pressed wrong button, lowered the bars forward instead of lowering it straight down. Luckily Raymond did grab hold of whatever he could grab hold of, else we can all claim insurance already. Accident at work. Hahaha.

Scared until pee in pants, so must drink water to replenish the lost fluid.

Every shoot involves a lot of sweat and tears.

Sweat is because the place was really warm and humid, and the weather that day was burning hot. Oh by the way, if there’s any person whom you dislike, go get a pair of Camel Active shoes and step on their toes. Try it, it’ll hurt like hell! That’s where the tears come…

Test shot.

Way up high on the fork lift again. It’s much safer this time round.

Ooops!! Undies exposed!! O_O”. Raymond must have been slogging too hard already, until the jeans became so loose. Awww…

Still can smile so happily at the camera! Hahahaha!! Bet when he sees his “Edison Chen“ exposed undies picture, I don’t think he’s able to smile anymore… =p

That’s stylo Ivan passing the camera to Raymond. He always dress up very stylo-ish whenever I see him around.

It was actually raining cats and dogs in the morning. But the moment we reached the place, the rain stopped miraculously! 3 times already.

Remember I saw a mouse trap?? This is the one!! First time I saw one right before my eyes.

Poor mousey, feeling super terrified and helpless. I was soooo tempted to let it go!! But Raymond said I cannot do that… =\

The Set up.

This is the inside of the Monstrous container truck. I hit my butt against the metal thing and I realised I need more calcium else I might be buttless the next time such things happen.

The inside.

Ivan’s sexy legs. Hahaha. Raymond said “you think you’re shooting wedding ah?” Muwahahaha.

They like this picture cos the reflection is pretty. But I made it so dark and sinister, it doesnt look pretty anymore.

Hmm… Alright, enough of the corporate shoots! I want to share some stuffs that I personally like! =D

Mr Swirly! Raymond shot this at Botanic Gardens during one of the Mentorship session with Uncle Patrick.

I thought this looked pretty disgusting. The red color plant…

PRETTY CAKES!!! Wow, the cakes in Japan are soooo delicate and pretty!! How to eat?? I haven’t been to Japan, but Raymond snapped this for me during his Osaka trip. I think I’ll go crazy if I were there. Japan must be the land of Cutsey stuffs!

WOW! FOOD!! This looks like our local Satay, but I wonder how’s the real flavour like. Hmm..

Some little fishies poked through sticks, and grilled.

I thought this particular doll looked really funny with the fishball eyes and pork bun ears. Hahaha. This is from China.

Cutsey stuff from Japan again!

Alright, end of sharing for now. More next time! =)

Things we do in our free time

Yesterday, we met up with Koh & Ting Yin for a little chit chat session at Secret Recipe – IMM, got the paperwork done and collected the deposit to lock down the date for their wedding photography next year on 29 May. Can’t wait to shoot their wedding!! =D

Chatted and chatted, didn’t realised that the time has flew so fast! Personally I really like the idea of using the Van. Hmm… Anyway, now I know where to source for a piano teacher if ever I intend to change one. Because surprisingly, Koh plays the piano, and he has achieved a Grade 8 standard! Maybe can charge half price. Hahahaha!

Raymond and I totally enjoyed the session with them even though the Oreo milkshake didn’t manage to satisfy Raymond’s Oreo cravings. Unfortunately the Oreo Cheesecake was sold out as well. No Chocolate Indulgence too! Nonetheless us being gluttons, decided to settle for their award winning Marble Cheesecake, and a Chocolate Fudge cake. Gee, so paiseh to have them treat us this time round. But no worries, next time the tab is on us! I’m totally for the idea of Long Beach Seafood.. Seafood Paradise at the Singapore Flyer, crabs at Defu Lane… there’s another one at Esplanade area… Palm Beach Seafood!! (Let Raymond slog his guts out for the bill. Muwahahaha!) =X

Personally I really like this couple a lot, and I’m sure Raymond will agree with me too! Very interesting couple with a lot of stories to share. Furthermore, Raymond told them he could feel their love for each other.. Their love is “gao gao” (hokkien for thick thick??) one! Hahahaha! Can’t wait for our next meet up with them! =D

On a heavier note, we got our car totally scratched and badly dented after we left IMM because Raymond didn’t notice the super big fat pillar just standing beside our car. So we ended up going home with a biiiiig heartache. Maybe we should snap a picture of the damage and post it here. *Shakes head*

I remember Ting Yin asking us whether we have free time for ourselves, and what do we do in our free time. Hmm… We try to squeeze time for a holiday every year, be it a long holiday or just a short getaway. Other than that… we do stupid things like catching cockroaches in the middle of the night when the whole neighbourhood was already busy snoring away.

The superman caught 3 cockroaches that night. Actually more, but they were from the previous nights. We were so busy trying to catch them, until we realised we ran out of containers. So we stopped at 3. Then we took a lot of snaps for the cockroaches and decided to make it into their wedding album. Hahahaha! Nah just kidding. But we did snapped a lot of pictures of them with the Canon Ixus. I think it’ll be too gross to post them up here though…

Sometimes we try to squeeze time to act like tourist and visit some of the “hot spots” such as the Singapore Flyer.

So happy… =_=”

Taking the duck tours and trying to “fight” with real tourists during the Q & A to win the Quacker. Most of our pat tor pictures taken with the Canon Ixus, only rare few with his camera.

Dining at Hibiki, followed by some snapping session.

Not forgetting desserts such as ice cream to complete the full meal.

Squeezing with the crowds at NATAS fair. Janice from SPH was kind enough to even meet us there so that we can sign the contract for the Her World Brides advertorial.

When I have the free time and no one else is around to disturb me, I’d cook a meal or two for us.

And I’ll always spend a loooot of time in the kitchen because of thing like this. I absolutely love it when my food comes in kiddy shapes and sizes. I call this the Genki Toufu cos it looks so genki. Hahaha.

When Raymond has the time, he’ll accompany me to my dental, which is Lee & Ong Dental. Dr Victor Lee rocks!! Very patient and friendly. =)

Sometimes when we got soooo stressed up with the editings, we’ll try to do things like balancing the egg on the floor, which i successfully did!

Practising for our future pre-wedding shoots. WAHAHAHA! Kidding!!

But just doing recce for couples’ pre-wedding shoot. This one was done for Karen and Tein Po. Usually we work in this way – recce the location and know it at the back of our hands first before we bring the couple over for shoot.

Attending my graduation ceremony, and helping to snap pictures of me and my parents. That’s my parents. They are really nice folks!

Met up with my friends for Hasae’s birthday dinner in September. Their names are Ah Neo (in the middle) and Hasae (on the far right). Together, we are AhneoHasaeYo! Serious!

Using Blu-Tack to mould things such as a tiny chair. Raymond has huge hands and fingers, so he cannot do this.

It’s really some of the stupid things we do during our precious free time.

Drove up to Genting in year 2006. I was forced to go up on the Space Shot ride!! Just for a little background information about me, I’m someone who is really terrified of height. Ask me to climb up the short ladder I’ll show you what jelly feet means. No choice, I had a private deal with Raymond so I had to fulfill the promise. >:(

Wow, that basically sums up what we did during our free time! For Raymond, it’s a lot more on growing roots in front of the monitor. Photos, more photos, and editing, more editing. While I’m happily blogging away now, he’s on his way out for an event shoot till late night.

We’ll be meeting Ann and Vincent tomorrow, followed by an evening shoot. I really wonder how is Anamika doing. Scared she might be too stressed up with work and the preparation stuffs for her wedding which is on the 5th of October. Hopefully she is more or less done with the important things already. Looking forward to Guan Lim & Jeslin’s wedding on the 4th of October too. Another very nice couple, and they taught us a lot on coffee. =)

Alright, gotta go back to photos already. Night!

Boy of India

I have a picture to share from Raymond’s collection.

I know this is very evil of me, but this picture sure reminds me of Chucky the killer doll…

Aaaa… No, this one is too fierce, too evil, and too scary. Doesn’t even look like Chucky, but you get the drift if you’ve forgotten how Chucky looks like.

The picture of that little boy was taken when Raymond travelled to India for a photography assignment. I quite like it actually. The expression and everything else definitely speaks more than a thousand words. It looks like he has been through tons of tough times. I really wonder what would he say if he was able to communicate with Raymond verbally, in a language that both of them could understand.

He must have a lot to tell.

Chinatown with Uncle Patrick

Heard (no time read papers, have time for News radio 93.8fm) that the global economy ain’t doing very well these few days. Strange that the thing I’m concerned about is the unemployment rate in the affected countries, rather than what’s gonna happen to us when the we kena jialat jialat. Because when unemployment rate goes up, a lot of social problems will happen. This in turn affects every other aspect of a country, the peoples’ lives, and many other things! Scary. :(

That aside, here are some quick snapshots taken during one of the Mentorship session at Chinatown with Raymond’s mentor Mr Patrick Ee Hon Teck. All winners of the Singapore Young Photographer Award 2008 will be assigned to learn from a mentor for a 12 hours session, and the Chinatown session was Raymond’s second last one. This time, I tagged along as well. Initially I thought Uncle Patrick would mind, but turns out he seemed more than happy to share his knowledge with me! I had great fun exploring Chinatown, but unfortunately my cannot-make-it snapshots were no where near Raymond’s professional images. *Frowns*

Raymond was setting up his Tripod, but this picture looks like he’s trying to hit Uncle Patrick! LOL! Sorry ah, very blur because a certain somebody’s hands were sooooo not stable.

Uncle Patrick then asked us to try shooting this. He mentioned that the “Durians” are important, and he doesnt want to see so much of the sky.

And then he wanted Raymond to do different shots so that all the images can be stitched up to form a Panoramic view like this.

The Mentor and “Disciple” having a hearty chat.

Uncle Patrick! I shot this in the elevator when he was explaining things to Raymond. Uncle Patrick has like many many many years of experience!

That’s chameleon Raymond Phang!

Raymond said he enjoyed the session that night because the shoot doesn’t make him feel pressurised.

DoubleChinoSaurus.

No idea why he said that… Maybe because he had such a wonderful “model” like me! Wahahaha!!

Able to cast everything aside, and heck care! Just make the stupid faces, and don’t care how other people see you.

SausageLippyBuckToothersaurus.

Pack up, and ready to go!

Uncle Patrick having a little chat with Raymond.

Uncle Patrick jotting down on his calendar the next mentorship session with Raymond. Shot too much of Raymond already, so had to shine some light on Uncle Patrick.

Chirpy Uncle Patrick!

I think our future wedding photographers will love us to bits. Cos we are like the tak glam people, willing to sacrifice for good pictures, anytime, anywhere, anyhow. Hahaha!

Busy week, busy with shoots and more shoots, busy meeting up with couples like Kash and Charlotte (Very tall and good looking couple!), Anamika and Pradeepto (looking forward to your big day and thanks for trusting us to be your photographer!), Ei-leen and John’s wedding images to edit, workstation to format… No time for exercise! Jialat. Raymond will be posting some stuffs on Ei-leen and John’s wedding pretty soon… I… think… Hahaha! Nights!
